Today, we’d like to highlight a lesser-known trail that showcases the landscape in the most unforgettable way. The trail meanders past boulders and beautiful mountain laurel as it makes its way to a gorgeous overlook. Whenever you’re able to enjoy this trail, you’ll be glad you did.
Located near Vesuvius, Virginia, the Mount Pleasant Trail is a 6.2-mile loop that will take you on a scenic adventure you won't soon forget.
Most hikers prefer to take the counter-clockwise route, although you can't go wrong either way. Along the trail, you'll experience an impressive array of features, like mountain laurel and fragrant blooms, depending on the time of year.
Perhaps one of the most unique trail features is the presence of massive boulders. Boulders are typically the result of wind and water on exposed blocks of granite.
Once you arrive at the overlook, you'll want to allow plenty of time to take in the views. You'll love observing the Blue Ridge Mountains in all of their glory. Even on a foggy day, the effect is mesmerizing.
