You'll find plenty of campsites along the shores of Philpott Lake, but the most unique is actually a small island known as Deer Park Island.

It's a boat-access-only campground that features 21 primitive sites and is available by reservation only.

The campground is open seasonally from April 1 until October 31. Those interested in camping at Deer Island Park must obtain a permit from the gatehouses at Salthouse Branch or Bowens Creek. The closest launch ramp to access the island can be found at the Salthouse Branch campground.
These campsites offer some of the most unique views in the state. Just imagine waking up on an island!
