Hiking in Virginia can be an all-day adventure filled with rock scrambles, impressive elevation gain, and challenges at every turn. While these kinds of trails can be rewarding in their own right, there are plenty of less strenuous trails that promise to be just as beautiful. One such example is Calf Mountain Trail. A beautiful overlook in Shenandoah National Park, this lovely destination won’t require too much time or energy.

Calf Mountain Trail is a section of the famous Appalachian Trail that can be accessed in Shenandoah National Park. No matter the season, this trail promises beautiful scenery at every step.

The trail measures 2.7 miles out-and-back, without too strenuous of an incline. For this reason, it's appropriate for hikers of most skill levels.
