It’s hard to imagine Virginia without its gorgeous natural attractions. From the mountains to the shoreline, every region of our state offers something spectacular in the way of beautiful scenery. While there are plenty of obvious attractions, there are just as many hidden gems just waiting to be discovered. One such example is an area known as the Tye River Valley in Nelson County. Beloved by locals, this area is captivating for its scenery.

The Tye River Valley is the area encompassing the Tye River, which flows from the Blue Ridge Mountains into Nelson County.
It's not difficult to see why this magical river valley has such a strong pull on nature lovers and those who love the idea of immersing themselves in gorgeous surroundings.
Fortunately, there are plenty of ways the Tye River Valley can be explored and enjoyed. Photographed below is the River Overlook at James River State Park.
Crabtree Falls is another must-see attraction in the area. It's here that you can hike alongside the tallest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi.
So whether you're interested in fishing, hiking, waterfalls, or gorgeous views, your time spent in the Tye River Valley will feel like an absolute dream.
