13 Undeniably Fun Weekend Trips To Take If You Live In Vermont
It seems hard to believe, but fall is approaching and the cold weather will be here before you know it. So, now is the time to plan a few weekend trips in VT! Whether you live in Vermont or would like to spend a few days here unwinding, here are a few places that have loads of things to do in the area to pack your weekend with fun.
During these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list to visit at a later date.
1. The town of Norwich
You'll love the charm of Norwich with it's great country store, sweeping views and community feel. Be sure to check out King Arthur's Flour and you'll simply love the hands on Montshire Museum of Science.
2. The city of Burlington
Here you'll find great shopping, dining, architecture and even a beach right in the city. Don't miss a trip to Church Street to see the local performers while you stroll up and down this open air mall.
3. Smugglers' Notch Resort
This four season resort is known to pack in the family fun, so bring your bathing suit, hiking boots and a sense of adventure to take part in all they have to offer.
4. Jay Peak
Hike and bike by day, hit the park by night in Jay. The Pumphouse has some great watersides and the lazy river is anything but lazy.
5. The town of Woodstock
This charming town has a welcoming downtown and working farms such as the Sugarbush Farm and the Billings Farm. It's a classic Vermont experience.
6. Brewery tours
Vermont is known for it's amazing craft beer and there is no shortage of places to see. Whether it's guided tours or self tours, just pick a few and try them all!
7. The town of Stowe
Rent some bikes and travel along the award winning bike path and hop on and off along the way to take in the sights. Take the Toll Road to the top of Mt. Mansfield or shop downtown to pack in the fun in this resort town.
8. Plymouth Notch, Calvin Coolidge Homestead
Take a step back in time and visit this perfectly preserved town. It's the birthplace of President Calvin Coolidge and both history buffs and kids alike will enjoy this weekend trip.

10. Shelburne Farms/Shelburne Museum
There is certainly a lot of things to see and do in the beautiful town of Shelburne, but you'll want to spend a full day at each of these spots. At least!
11. Shopping in Manchester
There is no shortage of places to shop at the designer outlets in Manchester. From places to eat to places to tour, everyone loves their visit here.
12. Take a Drive on Route 100
Take your time and stop along the way of this beautiful route. It's especially beautiful in the fall, which is right around the corner!
13. Champlain Islands and the Causeway
It's all about the water when you're traveling around these gorgeous islands in northern Vermont. Be sure to take a spin on the bike path with Lake Champlain on either side. It's the next best thing to walking on water!
