12 Things You Really Hope Santa Brings Vermont for Christmas
The Christmas countdown is almost over and we are ready to celebrate. People everywhere will spend the day with friends and family, but will they get what they
really want this year? Let’s talk about the things that everyone in Vermont truly wants for Christmas…
Ok, Santa, we're ready. Bring us a blanket of the white stuff.
Just in case we weren't clear the first time.
3. Lower Taxes
Wouldn't it be nice to wake up to find that Uncle Sam has lowered taxes in Vermont?
4. Free milk and cheese for life
The retail value of Vermont dairy products is worth more than $1.3 billion and between 6,000 and 7,000 Vermonters are employed in dairy production. Couldn't we get a kickback?
5. Perfect roads
We would still have the quaint charm of dirt roads, but no ruts, frost heaves or mud season.
6. Better cell phone coverage
But without cell towers interfering with our views.
7. Free ski passes
Those babies are expensive!
8. A Powerball winner!
44 states, Washington DC, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico all participate in Powerball.... and Vermont is one of 3 states or districts that has never won the big jackpot. Isn't it time? (Maine, Vermont and the U.S. Virgin Islands are the places that have never hit the jackpot.)
The University of Vermont prides itself as Catamount country, and the predator cat is a popular name in Vermont. There's Catamount beer, Catamount trails, Catamount this, Catamount that, but the truth is that the Catamount is officially extinct in Vermont.
11. A major league sports team
For such an active and healthy state, we can't root, root, root for the home team.
12. Peace on Earth
After all, isn't that what we all want?
What would be on your list this year?
