We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here:
1. Blackback Pub - 1 Stowe Street
Every bite you have at Blackback is incredible. You don't often see a pub with such a wonderfully diverse menu - all of it delicious - and the desserts are not to be missed. Definitely save room for dessert here, folks!
2. The Reservoir - 1 S Main Street
You'll love the burgers, beer and everything else on the fresh and creative menu. With items like Meatloaf Wellington and Five Cheese Mac & Cheese, even perusing the menu is a blast!
3. Stowe Street Cafe - 29 Stowe Street
You'll be dreaming of the Stowe Street Cafe's delicious breakfast sandwiches for a long, long time. You'll also find equally delicious quiche, empanadas and baked goods, not to mention some of the friendliest service you'll ever encounter.
4. The Blue Stone - 15 Stowe Street
The Blue Stone says it perfectly with "Serious Pizza. Humble Food. No Bull." The decor is stylish and cool, and the blackboard pizza is to die for!

Ocha is your go-to when you're looking for Thai food. They're popular for their take-out, but there are tables too so the choice is yours.
7. Hen of The Wood - 92 Stowe Street
Hen of the Wood in Waterbury has often been called one of the best restaurants
in the world, and anyone who has eaten there will agree. It's tucked away in an old grist mill, the atmosphere is inviting, service is seamless and the food is as tasty as it is beautifully presented. This one needs to go on your bucket list!
8. Cork Wine Bar & Market - 40 Foundry Street
Tasty bites and great wines, what more could you ask for? There's also a selection of hard to find wines for purchase and you'll find some real beauties.
9. Prohibition Pig - 23 S Main Street
Just when you think their duck fat fries couldn't get any better, they turn them into chili cheese fries. With uniquely fun and tasty dishes, cool decor, classic cocktails and craft beer, one taste and you'll see that every rave review is well deserved. They don't take reservations, but trust us, it's worth the wait!
