Well, the word is out. Vermont is a the best place to be if you’re looking for great opportunities. This study which was published by Opportunity Nation rates Vermont as the top ranked state for opportunity for the seventh year in a row. An article published by ozy.com discusses the factors that were taken into consideration when calculating the state scores and it’s titled “The Best State For Opportunity Is… Vermont?” Why do they sound so surprised? After all, life is good here! Let’s take a look at the factors that made VT the best state for opportunity once again.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

The ratings were calculated with four categories taken into account: economy, education, community and health.

Vermont usually tops every chart as a healthy state. Between the farm fresh food and endless hiking trails, it's really no surprise!

At 91.8%, Vermont has one of the highest high school rates in the nation.

Contrary to popular belief, Vermont is a fantastic place to start - and succeed - in business. A big thank you to places like the Vermont Center For Emerging Technologies (VCET) where they help over 300 new businesses each year by providing business advice, seed money, networking connections, workspace and mentors. They truly mean it when we say "Startups Wanted."

Vermont has always supported their local shops and farms, and when you factor in our helpfulness to our neighbors and communities, there is no better place to be.

Now that everyone knows that VT is the best state for opportunity, perhaps that’s why in 2017 more people moved to Vermont than any other state in the nation.
