1. Dorset Quarry, Dorset
Splash into summer at one of the coolest swimming holes in Vermont. This quarry is located on private property so please use caution and be respectful.
2. White Rocks Ice Beds, Wallingford
A three mile hike will bring you to the coolest spot in Vermont. Literally! The ice trapped below the rocks keeps you cool all summer long.
3. ArborTrek Canopy Adventures, Jeffersonville
Enjoy life above the trees on ArborTrek's zip line, treetop obstacle course and climbing adventure at Smugglers Notch.
4. Merck Forest & Farmland Center, Rupert
Meet the animals, see what it's like spending a day on the farm and go hiking on their 30 miles of trails. You can also spend the night in one of their campsites. This is one spot that's guaranteed to please the whole family.
5. Thundering Falls, Killington
Take this easy hike to a pretty waterfall on the Thundering Falls Trail. It's less than half a mile in and out, so it's do-able for everyone!
6. Skyline Drive, Arlington
This toll road brings you to the top of Mt. Equinox and the views are breathtaking. You'll find plenty of lookouts along the way and the sweeping vistas from the top are out of this world.
7. Alburg Dunes State Park, Alburg
You'll absolutely love a day at the beach when you visit the Alburg Dunes State Park. The beach is long, the sand is clean and it's the perfect spot for a family day under the sun.
8. Colchester Causeway, Colchester
Take a ride on this causeway with Lake Champlain on either side. It's like you're riding right on the water!
9. Warren Falls, Warren
This wildly popular swimming hole is worth dealing with the crowds. A gorgeous spot for some natural fun.
10. Mt. Philo, Charlotte
This great hike rewards you with fabulous views. There is a wonderful spot for a picnic or BBQ at the top, so be sure to bring some snacks.
11. Vermont River Tubing, Stockbridge
Spend a day lazily floating down the river in Stockbrige. It's fun, affordable and a great way to cool down on a summer day.
