What is the most beautiful river hike in Vermont?

Camel’s Hump Trail is a difficult hike, but not all good things can be easy, and this hike is probably the most beautiful river hike in all of Vermont. Camel’s Hump Trail is a 6 mile trail found in Camel’s Hump State Park found in the northern half of the state. The hike will bring you up over 2,500 feet of elevation and will take you to sweeping views of the valleys below, and of course, to incredible sights of the roaring river. This hike is a unique one, as it is absolutely stunning whether you choose to hike in winter, when the trail turns into a winter-wonderland snowscape, or in summer, when the weather is nice and the river looks too inviting to resist.

What is the most scenic kid-friendly river hike in Vermont?

Thundering Brook Falls is the most scenic kid-friendly river hike in Vermont. Located just outside Killington, Vermont, this easy trail is under a half mile long! However, don’t let it’s short length deceive you, this hike will take you along a boardwalk until you reach the scenic and breathtaking Thundering Brook Falls themselves! This cascading waterfall is quite the site to behold, and if you are ever looking for a quick walk to get out of the house to get some fresh air, and hear the relaxing sound of the waterfall, this is the perfect hike for you and your entire family!

Where can I find the largest river in Vermont?

There are many different ways you can measure a river. You can measure the length, the width, and even the depth. But if you are looking for the longest river entirely contained within the borders of Vermont, that distinction goes to Otter Creek. Otter Creek is 112 miles long and flows from northern Vermont, all the way into Lake Champlain. Being 112 miles long, Otter Creek is much more than just a creek. On Otter Creek, you can find a giant waterfall in the middle of downtown Middlebury, Vermont, as well of the town of Vergennes, the first town on Otter Creek, settled over 200 years ago!
