Texas Falls Recreation Area is the perfect family outing destination because there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Along with a hike, waterfalls, opportunities to go fishing, and a designated picnic area, there’s also an observation deck that’s a popular spot for taking photos on special occasions!

The path around Texas Falls is a loop that’s just over a mile. Even though it’s an easy hike, take time to enjoy the sites and sounds as you spend time on this trail. And, as long as your dog is on a leash, they can join you for this fun day out too!

Texas Falls Recreation Area is located in the middle of the state, near Hancock.

To reach Texas Falls, take Route 125 from Rochester or Middlebury, Vermont and then follow the signs to Forest Road 39.
The 1.2 mile trail includes steps and vantage points to stop and enjoy the stunning views.

One of the most popular times to visit this well-known Vermont trail is in the fall. Due to the weather, the best time to visit Texas Falls Recreation Area is from March through November.
