The One Vermont Town Everyone Must Visit This Fall
Fall is a spectacular, but short, season in Vermont. That’s why it’s so important to pack as much into each day as possible and the town of Stowe is a great place to do just that. With beautiful scenery and loads of activities, it’s the perfect fall town in VT. Let’s take a look at a few of the things you can do in this charming place.
Stroll around the village.
Whether you're looking for unique shopping or postcard perfect photographs, you'll find it in the charming village of Stowe.
Get spooked on Emily's Bridge.
This haunted bridge has tons of
about the ghost of a jilted girl named Emily. Visit if you dare!
Take a ride through the tree tunnel.
Drive through the notch as you zig and zag through the mountains. This tree tunnel was named one of the best in the world and fall foliage is the perfect time to experience it.
Zip line through the mountains.
You'll soar along on a series of zip lines on this wild ride. You've never seen foliage from this vantage point before!
Grab a bite at Idletyme Brewing Company.
Not only is the food delicious, the outdoor patio is amazing! Enjoy your meal in the fresh air and perhaps play a game of corn hole on the lawn.
Take a hike!
There are many hikes throughout Stowe for all abilities and they're all wonderful. Pictured is the view from the Stowe Pinnacle - a moderate hike with fantastic views from the top.
Visit the Trapp Family Lodge.
Visit the spot where the hills are alive with the Sound of Music. The views are stunning and there is lots to do right on the property.
Walk or ride along the bike path.
There are scenic spots at every turn on this impeccably maintained path. Don't want to bring your bike? No problem! Rent one at one of the many shops along the path!
Visit a waterfall.
Moss Glen Falls is one of two gorgeous waterfalls in Stowe. You'll love this spot which is an easy and quick hike in. The other is Bingham Falls which is also a short hike, but steep!
Take the Toll Road to the top of Mt. Mansfield.
It's about a 20 minute drive to the top of the mountain and you can make your way to the highest point in Vermont. Needless to say, the views are spectacular!
