2017 Might Be The Best Year Ever For Fall Foliage In Vermont
We might still be in the heat of summer, but for residents of the Green Mountain State, the allure of autumn is never far away.
This gorgeous explosion of oranges, yellows, and reds during fall is a trademark of life in Vermont and as it turns out, this year will be no different. In fact, a recent forecast claims that 2017 may be the most vibrant year for fall foliage yet. In case you needed further evidence that Vermont belongs at the very top of your fall foliage bucket list, here it is:
The New England foliage forecast is an annual activity that helps predict where and when to spot the gorgeous seasonal transformation.
Any given year in Vermont does not disappoint in the leaf department. Such changes often inspire trips to pumpkin patches, apple farms, hikes, and all sorts of festivals.
There are many factors that go into the prediction of the fall foliage season, a high-pressure activity considering the tradition and activities that center around this season.
Other factors, namely gypsy moth caterpillars and droughts, simply haven't been present this year whereas in past years, they've stripped trees of their leaves before they've even had a chance to change color.
While Vermont isn't the only New England state enjoying this forecast, it's certainly an excuse to get outside and explore our backyard during this upcoming season.
