Walk Through Ogden's Christmas Village In Utah This Holiday

When the holidays arrive, there are many incredible attractions from Christmas light displays to festivals in Utah that you don’t want to miss. But, one holiday event that is sure to make even Scrooge himself smile is Ogden’s Christmas Village. Each year, Ogden’s downtown area turns into a winter wonderland complete with Christmas lights and cottages. You’ll feel like you are walking right through the North Pole as you take a stroll through this must-visit holiday attraction.

The Christmas village has been a tradition in the city of Ogden for more than 60 years. The first village was built in 1961 and over the years, this has become one of Utah’s largest holiday celebrations and one of the most popular.

Beginning on November 26, 2022, to January 1, 2023, downtown Ogden will transform into a wonderland of holiday magic. Lights turn on each night from 5 p.m. until midnight and it is free to visit.

When you visit, bundle up as you’ll take a stroll through millions of lights that create the most enchanting holiday display.

The attraction is designed to look like the North Pole and it certainly does. There are charming cottages adorned with festive decorations all along the “streets.”

As you walk, you'll want to pay attention to each cottage as you can vote for your favorite at the end of your journey.

Of course, you’ll also want to stop by and visit Santa Claus. He is in the village on select nights throughout the event and it is free to visit with him. Make sure to bring a camera so you can capture this holiday memory!

November 26 is this event's opening night and it is packed with activities including a Santa Run, Electric Light Parade, and official light ceremony. Gather your entire family and come along for the excitement, magic, and fun.

Whether you come once, twice, or numerous times through the month of December, this is one winter wonderland in Utah that you’ll want to explore. It’s sure to put you in the holiday spirit.
