Wait Til You Get A Taste Of The Scrumptious Food At This Utah Restaurant
When is the last time you had Peruvian food? If you live in or near St. George, that answer might be “last night!” Viva Chicken serves up Peruvian rotisserie that’s fast and healthy. Check it out!
During these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list to visit at a later date.
You'll find Viva Chicken at 1183 E. 100 S. in St. George.
It's a casual dining restaurant where you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table.
The dining room is sleek and modern, and you'll find plenty of tables.
The specialty here is Pollo A La Brasa. It's chicken that's been marinated for a full day in a special mix of Peruvian spices, then slow-cooked over charcoal in an oven built in Lima, Peru.
Pollo A La Brasa comes as 1/4 chicken with two sides, 1/2 chicken with two sides, or a family-sized whole chicken with four family-sized sides. Shown is the 1/4 chicken with rice and green beans.
Check out this family dinner for four!
You'll also notice the Inca Kola...give it a try. In Peru, it's much more popular than Coca Cola.
You definitely need to try the special sauces here. Try the roasted rocoto (red sauce), aji amarillo (yellow sauce) huacatay (green sauce)
The yellow sauce is the most mild, followed by the haucatay (green sauce). The roasted rocoto red sauce is seriously spicy.
Arroz Chuafa is another favorite.
It's a Peruvian fried rice with jasmine rice, peppers, green onion, red onion, egg, soy sauce, ginger and shredded chicken.
If you're a vegetarian (or you just love avocados), the Quinoa Stuffed Avocados is a good choice.
Avocados stuffed with quinoa and red pepper, drizzled with rocoto mayo and balsamic vinaigrette.
If you're looking for a more portable option, the wraps are tasty, too.
If you want to try something that's not chicken, go for the Classic Saltado.
It's a simple, but delicious meal of grilled sirloin steak with tomatoes, onions and cilantro, served over rice.
Skip the boring soda and try something new.
Viva Chicken offers three signature juices, mixed up in-house: herbal limeade, maracuya and chicha morada.
Viva Chicken is open Monday through Saturday from 11 AM to 9 PM; closed on Sunday.
