Southern Utah’s sandstone formations, sweeping vistas and stunning canyons are some of the state’s most beautiful scenery. During storms, that scenery holds danger to those who live and play there. Flash flooding is always a concern in Utah, and last year was particularly deadly. It’s tough to get good video footage of flash floods. The floods often occur in remote areas, so it’s difficult to film them safely. David Rankin captured this flash flooding on June 6, 2015 with his drone. Watch the power of the water as it quickly fills the dry riverbed.
