15 Things You Really Hope Santa Brings Utah for Christmas
We’ve been really, really good this year! Hopefully Santa will bring Utah these 15 things on our list.

We need snow in the mountains. The ski industry loves it, the skiers love it and any Utahn who enjoys drinking water all year loves it.

While we love our snow, we prefer it up in the mountains so that the roads are clear and safe.

Jazz fans would love to see their team in the playoffs this year, Santa.

1,000 megabits per second sounds like a FABULOUS gift.

There’s nothing worse than a summer of road construction. If Santa’s elves could come up with some self-repairing potholes, that would be a great gift for Utahns.

Maybe two more...one in the Northern part of the state, and another in the Southern part? Everyone in Utah should be able to own cheap furniture with cool Swedish design. Not to mention “Kids Eat Free Tuesday,” which would surely be popular.

The Cinemark theater in Sugar House recently renovated their theaters and set them all up with reclining seats. Once you’ve enjoyed a theater experience in reclining seats, it’s hard to do without them!

While we’re making progress toward being a “no kill” state, many Utah pets are still homeless. Maybe Santa can find homes for them.

We can buy our own gym memberships...but some of us could use a little help from Santa in the motivation department.

In case Santa doesn’t bring the motivation to use our gym memberships.

If you’ve ever been to Powell’s Books in Portland, you’ve discovered the joy of spending hours getting lost in a bookstore that’s roughly the size of Costco.

This might be the coolest concept I’ve ever heard. Originally very popular in Asia and Europe, cat cafes have popped up in many U.S. cities. They’re basically small coffee shops with several cats that patrons can play with, pet and snuggle. We definitely need a few of these in Utah. In the meantime, you can always head to the Utah Humane Society or Best Friends Animal Society to love on a few kitties.

Putting up the Christmas tree and lights is a fun holiday tradition, but taking them down every year is a real pain. Some elves to do the work for us would be greatly appreciated.

Some Utahns don’t have enough to eat. The Jazz Bear and volunteers are doing their part at the Utah Food Bank; hopefully Santa makes sure that every hungry Utahn has enough food this year.

Utah is already a great state full of wonderful people. Let’s hope that Santa brings every Utahn the desire to be inclusive of everyone in our state, so that we can continue to be the BEST state in the country!
What else should we add to our list to Santa?
