If You Live in Utah, You Must Visit This Amazing State Park
Our five national parks draw visitors from all over the world, and they’re certainly worthy of their fame. However, we also have 45 state parks that each offer unique beauty and recreation.
If you live in Utah, you must visit Dead Horse Point State Park. It’s located a few miles southwest of Moab.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

Situated on a mesa 2,000 feet above the Colorado River, the point offers an absolutely stunning panoramic view. The park offers a visitor center, campground, yurts, coffee shop and bike trail.

Take a bike ride along the Intrepid Trail. It winds for over 16 miles through the juniper and red rock, offering scenic views along the way. The trail is only for non-motorized vehicles and does not allow pets. The trailhead starts at the Visitor Center.

The Pony Expresso Coffee Shop offers hot cocoa, coffee, cold drinks, sandwiches and snacks. You can also grab a bag of ice for your cooler. The shop closes for the winter and reopens every March.

Stay overnight at the Kayenta Campground, which offers 21 shaded campsites.

Each site has a shady structure with a picnic table and charcoal grill.

Sites offer tent pads and RV hookups. Campers will also enjoy modern restrooms. The fee is $30.00 per night.

If you’re looking for more luxurious accommodations, stay in a yurt at Dead Horse Point. The park has three yurts, which rent for $99 per night.

Yurts sleep six guests; you’ll need to bring your own bedding. The interior offers heating, air conditioning and electrical outlets.

The outdoor seating area offers fabulous views of the canyons, and include a propane grill.

At night, this is your view of the starry sky.

The park also offers a short nature trail and several hiking trails. You’ll find plenty of opportunity for photography and might even catch a glimpse of some wildlife. If you haven’t already visited Dead Horse Point State Park check it out soon.
