This Amazing Utah Campground Is The Perfect Place To Pitch Your Tent
If you’re like me, you’re dying to get out there with your tent and camp in Utah’s gorgeous wilderness. But…many of the campgrounds in the High Uintas are still covered in snow, and the some of the campgrounds in the lower canyons along the Wasatch Front have dangerous, raging rivers nearby. What to do? Head south, of course! Take a look at this little campground that’s situated right at a trailhead that takes you to a gorgeous waterfall. It’s a little oasis in the desert.
You'll find the Calf Creek Recreation Area in the northern portion of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, just a few miles south of Boulder.
There's not much elevation gain on this hike, but the deep sand in some spots makes for some rough going. Expect this hike to take you 3-4 hours, and bring plenty of water.
