When You’re Craving Comfort Food, This Utah Restaurant Is The Place To Go
When the weather starts getting chilly, it’s time for some serious comfort food. Here’s a restaurant in Salt Lake City that’s serving up old-school comfort food in an entirely new way. Take a look!
Tradition opened in the spring of 2017; it's located near Liberty Park at 501 E. 9th S. in Salt Lake City.
The restaurant focuses on classic comfort food with a modern twist.
The dining room here is light and bright, with little decor touches that make it warm and personable. The exposed brick and ductwork doesn't feel too industrial - this place is more urban comfort.
The dinner menu has a large variety of small plates. Try an order of fried green tomatoes.
Another great option is the pigs in a blanket. They're the grown-up version of the tasty treat your mom fed you when you were little.
How about the funeral potatoes? These are pan-fried potato cakes - a more gourmet version of the famous Utah casserole.
If you're looking for a dinner entree, the chicken and dumplings won't disappoint - it's a favorite here.
Here's the fish and chips. This isn't the greasy fast-food version - this is tempura fried Atlantic char with a lemon aioli, watercress and matchstick potatoes.
What do you have for dessert after a comfort food dinner? Pie, of course. The menu lists five different flavors, with the option to add a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Visit Tradition for lunch Monday – Friday 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Enjoy brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 3 PM. Dinner is served seven nights a week from 5 PM to 10 PM.
