Why People Go Crazy For This One Shake In Small Town Utah
Garden City, Utah is well-known for its delicious raspberries. Utahns are known for their love of ice cream, especially shakes. This is the perfect match.
During these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list to visit at a later date.
Garden City sits right on the banks of one of Utah's most gorgeous lakes - Bear Lake.
It's a rural little town with fewer than 600 residents.
However, during the sunny summer months, this little town fills with visitors. The azure-blue waters, pristine beaches and hometown feel make Garden City a hot destination spot.
You can see why they call Bear Lake, "The Caribbean of the Rockies."
Of course, there's one other reason people love it here - the raspberries. Thanks to the warm summer days and cool, crisp nighttime temperatures, the berries grown here are especially sweet. Raspberry pickers come from up to 150 miles away, just to enjoy these little gems.
In fact, the raspberries are such a big deal, that Garden City hosts an annual Raspberry Days Festival. (This year's festival is August 3rd - 5th...don't miss it!).
There are many ways to enjoy these sweet, juicy raspberries. But the best way? A thick raspberry shake, of course! So, where can you get a raspberry shake? Pretty much everywhere in town.
La Beau's Drive Inn is a popular spot. You'll find it at 69 N. Bear Lake Blvd.
Some say that Quick N Tasty is the best place to find your shake. It's located at 28 N. Bear Lake Blvd.
Zipz is a favorite, and has a 4.5-star rating on Yelp! Visit this cute place at 32 W. 75th N.
Of course, you can't go wrong with a shake at Home Town Drive Inn at 105 N. Bear Lake Blvd.
Merlin's Drive Inn makes a pretty tasty raspberry shake, too. It's at 149 N. Bear Lake Blvd.
Basically, all you need to know is this: the raspberries in Garden City are incredible beyond belief. And the raspberry shakes are creamy, delicious and without a doubt the best way to cool off on a hot, summer day.
Our recommendation? Visit all of these places (and a few more) and try a shake at each. Maybe you'll decide on one winner. And maybe...you'll decide that you just have to return next year for another round of taste-testing!
