This Extraordinary Pancake House In Utah Is Basically A Dream Come True
The only reason to wake up early on a weekend? Pancakes, of course! Utah has plenty of
great diners and cafes that serve some amazing breakfast, but if it’s pancakes in particular that tickles your fancy, you need to head to Sugarhouse, Sandy or Midvale.
During these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list to visit at a later date.
The Original Pancake House has been a breakfast favorite in Sugarhouse for years, and there are two other locations in Midvale and Sandy.
The dining room isn't anything fancy, but it's clean and spacious and has plenty of tables, which is good since it's always busy on the weekends.
This place is pretty much the King of Breakfasts, and you can certainly get a tasty omelet and some delicious biscuits and gravy here...
...but the real specialty of the house is the pancakes, piled high and dripping with butter.
You'll find a huge selection of pancakes to choose from. If you have a real sweet tooth, try the Macadamia and White Chocolate Chip pancakes (shown here), or the regular chocolate chip pancakes.
Top your pancakes with fresh fruit, bananas, pineapple and coconut, or blueberries for a fresh start to your day.
If you want pancakes, but you also want something more savory, order the Three Pigs in Blankets - three sausages rolled up inside delicious buttermilk pancakes, then sprinkled with powdered sugar.
The Dutch Baby is a special treat. It's a souffle-style, German pancake that's oven-baked and sprinkled with powdered sugar.

All three locations are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m..
