Hot Springs in Utah

December 21, 2021

Are there any natural hot springs in Utah?

There are! Utah is a wonderful state filled with adventure, and sometimes that adventure is nothing more than a simple soak in a refreshing natural hot spring. In fact, the hot springs in northern Utah are world-famous for their having the highest mineral content in the world, and many of them have assorted hot and cold springs in proximity to one another, like Crystal Hot Springs in Honeyville. In Midway, you’ll find the springs at Homestead Crater, which are going on 10,000 years old but don’t look a day over 500. Interestingly, Homestead Crater is more than just a hot spring; it’s also the only warm-water scuba destination in the United States. It’s an impressive 65-foot-deep spring with, obviously, no fish, but plenty of relaxation to be had. In Utah Valley, you’ll want to look out for Inlet Park Hot Springs, where the water reaches 109 degrees and is ridiculously cozy. That entire area is known for its springs, so keep your eyes peeled for others, too.

What are some amazing winter getaways in Utah?

Winter is a beautiful time of year in Utah. There are plenty of fun things to do, see, and experience, no matter what you like to do. Visit Zion National Park and stay there for a weekend or longer – bonus points if it snows while you’re there because it’s some of the most amazing landscape in the United States and it’s even more special when covered in a layer of fresh snow. Hardware Ranch is a wonderful little place to escape to for the day as well; there, you can take sleigh rides and check out the throngs of elk that hang out here during the coldest months of the year. Elk viewing season usually begins in mid-December, so make sure to plan accordingly. Arches National Park is another incredible winter getaway that doesn’t get enough credit for its winter beauty.
