However, there is one more thing to love about fall in Utah — the annual Melon Days Festival. Hosted in Green River each year, this small town festival is one that you will not want to miss. In fact, the Green River Melon Days Festival is one annual event the entire family will count down to every single year.

Utahns have enjoyed the Green River Melon Days Festival for more than 115 years. This festival is simply a large celebration of the town’s famous melon varieties and their growers.

Each year, this festival takes place on the third weekend in September and the entire event is packed with activities. In 2022, the festival will be held on September 16 and 17.

Melon Days begins Friday and features activities the entire family will enjoy from a golf tournament, pony rides for children, a softball tournament, and even Wild West dancing.
Saturday is the day you will not want to miss. The day begins with a 5k run and walk, followed by the popular Melon Days Parade.
