You Don’t Want To Miss This Epic Utah Festival This Fall
There’s just nothing like a sweet, juicy watermelon…but a Green River melon is even better. The melons here are so epic that the town of Green River celebrates them with a festival every fall.
Get ready, because OK Anderson Park in Green River is about to turn into the grounds for Utah's best festival of the year.
Melon Days will fill the park with vendors and activities, starting on Saturday, September 9th.
On September 8th and 9th, the Melon Days Princess and Queen pageants take place, and winners will be crowned in anticipation for the following week's festivities.
There's a community dinner at the park on Wednesday, September 13th
Bounce houses, carnival, kids games and activities also start on the 13th.
Saturday, September 16th is the biggest day of the festival.
Festivities kick off at 6:45 AM with the Melon Run 5k. Enjoy the Scout Pancake Breakfast from 7 AM to 9 AM, then watch the parade, which starts at 10 AM. Enjoy the softball tournament, food trucks, entertainment, carnival and vendors all day long at the park, and a concert at dusk.
Of course, the stars of the show are the melons themselves. You'll want to grab a few cantaloupes...
...and the sweet, juicy Green River watermelons are just waiting to go home with you!
So, who's ready for some watermelon?
