There’s just nothing like a sweet, juicy watermelon…but a Green River melon is even better. The melons here are so epic that the town of Green River celebrates them with a festival every fall.
Get ready, because OK Anderson Park in Green River is about to turn into the grounds for Utah's best festival of the year.
On September 8th and 9th, the Melon Days Princess and Queen pageants take place, and winners will be crowned in anticipation for the following week's festivities.
Festivities kick off at 6:45 AM with the Melon Run 5k. Enjoy the Scout Pancake Breakfast from 7 AM to 9 AM, then watch the parade, which starts at 10 AM. Enjoy the softball tournament, food trucks, entertainment, carnival and vendors all day long at the park, and a concert at dusk.

Of course, the stars of the show are the melons themselves. You'll want to grab a few cantaloupes...
