This Tropical-Themed Snow Shack In Utah Will Make You Feel Like You’ve Been Transported To The Islands
There’s nothing as refreshing as a tasty shave ice treat when the weather’s hot, and Utah has several spots to find them. There’s one Hawaiian-themed shack that’s unique. Keep reading to find out why!
Hokulia Shave Ice got its start in Provo back in 2008. Today, you'll find these cute little island shacks in several locations across the state.
Address: 1445 North Canyon Road, Provo, UT, 84604
This isn't just any old sno cone shack. Hokulia uses shaved ice, which is much smoother than the pebbles of ice you get in a typical sno cone.
These tasty, frozen treats come in 50 different flavors, so you're certain to find several that you love.
If you can't decide on just one flavor, go half-and-half and get two!
Add some Sno Cap topping to your shave ice for an even sweeter treat. Sno Cap is a rich, creamy syrup. You can also get your treat topped with coconut flakes or Li Hing Mui powder.
For an authentic taste from the islands, order your shave ice Hawaiian style with a scoop of ice cream inside. Hokulia gets all its ice cream from Farr Better, so you know it's going to be incredible.
You haven't lived til you've tried a shave ice with creamy ice cream inside. It's kind of like eating a Dreamsicle...but even better, and in any flavor you can imagine.
When the weather heats up, the lines at these little shacks get pretty long, but we promise - the wait is well worth it!
There are currently 25 Hokulia locations throughout Utah, from Ogden to St. George, and another five more coming soon.
