The Sandwiches At This Utah Restaurant Are So Gigantic They Fall Off The Plate
Are you hungry? I mean, really, really hungry? If so, you need to visit this little corner market in Salt Lake City, where the service is friendly and the sandwiches are so huge that they won’t fit on a plate.
Pete Savas was a Greek immigrant who built a little corner market in 1947. It was a place where folks could stop by to pick up a gallon of milk, loaf of bread, or some fresh produce. Pete passed away in 1953, but the Savas family continues to own and operate the market.
In the 1970s, the family added a little deli in the back of the store, and today it's one of the best places to get a sandwich in the state. You'll find it at 1906 Main St., Salt Lake City, UT 84115.
You'll find the sandwich counter at the back of the store, tucked in amongst the bags of chips and drink coolers. During the lunch rush, there's usually a long line, but it moves pretty quickly, and it's well worth the wait.
This charming little market has all kinds of tasty treats, from candy, chips and drinks to homemade salads and desserts, to a wide selection of hot sauces, bottled condiments, and basic staples.

These monsters pack tons of flavor in between the bread. The Big John is the signature sandwich here, and it comes with seven deli meats, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickle, Swiss, American, or Provolone cheese, and pepperoncini peppers.
Other options include ham, turkey, corned beef, salami, pastrami, roast beef, BBQ pulled pork, meatball, tuna, seafood, BLT, and more.
The Grove uses the highest quality meats and freshest vegetables to create the most delicious sandwich you could ever imagine. And the best part? These sandwiches are a great value. You'll spend just $4.99 - $6.99 for a half sandwich, and $8.39 to $11.49 for a full sandwich that could easily feed two or three people.
Grove Market is so stuffed with tasty food that there's nowhere to sit inside. Enjoy your sandwich at one of the picnic tables outside, or take one with you on the go.
