Fall Is Here And Red Butte Garden Is A Beautiful Place To See The Changing Leaves In Utah
If you love fall foliage, you’re going to want to catch a glimpse of it soon. In Utah, the foliage can come and go very quickly. One way to surround yourself with the vibrant colors of autumn is to make a trip to Red Butte Garden.
Red Butte Garden opened its doors back in 1985, and it's the perfect place to reconnect with nature. The Garden is open almost every day of the year ; it's closed on Thanksgiving Day, and from December 24 - January 1.
Take a stroll down the paths to see fall foliage in the various display gardens. You'll find all kind of outdoor art nestled amongst the trees and plants here.
Water features abound in the garden, and you won't want to miss the opportunity to sit on a bench at the Water Pavilion Garden and watch the waterfall tumble into the pond below.
The garden encompasses 100 acres of land above the University of Utah, and includes five miles of hiking trails. Hit the trails above the garden to see even more foliage.
Watch for signs throughout the garden that will help you identify various plants and trees, or ask a volunteer for more information - more than 300 active volunteers give their time to this beautiful place every year.
Adult admission to the garden is $14, with $2 discounts for seniors, military personnel, and UofU staff and faculty. Students at the university get free admission; children ages 3-17 pay $7. Consider supporting the garden with an annual membership.
