Tropic is one small town, located just outside of Bryce Canyon National Park, that is beautiful in every way. With stunning scenery, excellent proximity to national and state parks, delicious food, and cozy overnight accommodations, there’s so much offered in such a tiny town. Tropic is located in Garfield County, just outside of Bryce Canyon National Park. You will find it along Utah Scenic Byway 12 and fewer than 600 people call this town home.
Not only is this town right outside of Bryce Canyon, but it is just a short drive from Escalante Petrified Forest State Park, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Kodachrome Basin State Park, and several others.

During your stay, you can also just drive on Scenic Byway 12 to enjoy some of the most breathtaking southern Utah views.
While in town, you can visit the Tropic Town Heritage Center, which is a small museum that teaches you all about the early days of Tropic and the Paria River Valley.
