Every year, the 433 Yoshino cherry trees around the Utah State Capitol burst into pale pink blossoms, signaling that spring has returned to the Beehive State.
The walkway circles the Capitol. It's the perfect place to enjoy a beautiful spring day. Bring a picnic lunch and dine on the lawn under the trees, or sit on a bench and just bask in the sunshine.
The Yoshino cherry trees were a gift from the people of Japan to Utah, following World War II. To honor that token of friendship, the trees were planted in a place of great importance to the Beehive State - it's Capitol.
Yoshino cherry trees bloom for just a short period of time, so you'll want to visit the grounds of the Capitol soon, before they're gone until next year.
