Take This Short, Easy Trail To One Of The Most Breathtaking Views In Utah
Zion National Park is Utah’s most popular park, with nearly 3 million visitors every year. It’s easy to see why – the park is absolutely gorgeous, and there are plenty of hiking trails to help visitors explore the natural wonders found there. The best trails provide stunning views of Zion’s canyons, and The Canyon Overlook Trail is just such a trail. It’s a short, easy hike that’s perfect for families.
The trailhead starts just past the east entrance to the Zion-Mt. Carmel Tunnel. You'll start by climbing a few short sections of stairs.
It's flat the rest of the way. Keep an eye on the kids - like any trail in Zion, there are still places where they can slip and fall if they're goofing around.
The hike is just one mile round-trip, and is really easy for almost anyone in the family. Plan to spend about an hour hiking (not including the time you’ll spend at the overlook, taking pictures and standing in amazement at the beauty of this canyon).
