The Neighborhood Restaurant In Utah With Burgers So Good You’ll Be Back For Seconds
Utahns love burgers. One of our most popular articles ever was our list of the best burger joints in Utah. Some Utahns agreed with our 11 choices, others expressed disbelief that we’d left out their favorites and many readers recommended restaurants we’d missed. Pretty much everyone who commented was absolutely passionate about burgers.
One of the burger joints we missed was Burger Stop in Layton. It was quickly apparent that this restaurant not only serves incredibly tasty burgers, but it also has an active role in the neighborhood. From car shows to Christmas light hayrides that benefit charities, Burger Stop is constantly finding ways to give back to the community. Check this place out!
Burger Stop opened in 1993 with the motto, "Do what the competition won't do and do it better." The Theobold family owns and operates the restaurant.
As the restaurant's name implies, the burgers really are the stars on the menu. This is the Spare Tire - one pound of ground beef, three slices of cheese and two strips of bacon (plus lettuce and tomato).
Once you've tackled the Spare Tire, you might be ready to try The Deuce. It's two pounds of hamburger, five slices of cheese and four strips of thick-cut bacon.
Hundreds of people come from all over the state to admire the cars and bikes, eat some burgers and mingle. The event is free and runs from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
During the holiday season, Burger Stop teams up with Layton City, Wasatch Rods and Custom Car Club to provide hayrides through the Christmas Light Display at Layton City Park. Start your evening by visiting Santa inside Burger Stop.
