You'll find Brian Head Resort just a few miles northeast of Cedar City. It's far from the other Utah ski resorts, but it's a little hidden gem.
The resort has the highest base elevation of any in Utah, and it still gets plenty of that fabulous Utah snow - an average of more than 360 inches per year.
Three terrain parks also offer challenges for snowboarders of all levels. Bypass is perfect for advanced tricksters, Detour is great for beginners, and Foundation is fit for first-timers.
If you're new to skiing and boarding, that's ok! Brian Head offers group and private lessons taught be friendly instructors that will have you whizzing down the mountain in no time at all.
The lift prices at Brian Head are less expensive than the Wasatch Front resorts, but to save even more money, you can night ski here. Prices are just $25 during the regular season, or add night skiing onto your day pass for just $12 to extend the fun.
There's a lodge at the base of both mountains, and each offers dining, and cozy spots to relax and warm up. Pop in for a cup of cocoa or coffee, then get back out there!
