Step Back In Time And Enjoy An 1800s Christmas At Utah’s Frontier Homestead State Park
The holidays are supposed to be a time to enjoy loved ones while surrounded by brightly-shining lights, Christmas carols, cookies, and pine boughs, but it can get a little bit overwhelming with constant ads and commercials for big box store deals and modern commercialism everywhere you go. This year, take a little break from all the hustle and bustle and get back to what really matters with a pioneer Christmas straights out of the 1800s.
Pioneers settled in the Cedar City area back in 1851, and some of that early heritage has been preserved at Frontier Homestead State Park.
Visitors to the park are treated to a delightful museum and tons of hands-on experiences that give them an idea of what it was like to be a pioneer here in the late 1800s.
Festivities include daily craft projects for kids, with a different craft offered every day. Crafts include ornaments, wooden snowmen, candle holders, and more.
Admission to the Christmas at the Homestead Community Celebration is just $2 per person, or $5 per family. Make plans to attend!
