What are the best parks in Colorado for families with kids?

Colorado – especially Denver – is a wonderful place for families with kids. It’s home to parks of all kinds, from incredible state and National Parks filled with natural wonders to urban playgrounds and fun zones that every kid will love. Some of our favorite parks in the Denver area for kids include Central Park in Stapleton, which has magical playgrounds and a water play area for the summer months, and Ruby Hill Park, which is wonderful year-round for the little ones. We’re also big fans of Paco Sanchez Park. Nearby Denver, there are many others, like Peter Pan Park, Quail Crossing Park, and Westminster Center Park, all of which are in Westminster. Thornton, Arvada, and Littleton are all also destinations for park-loving kids and their parents.

What are the best hiking trails in Rocky Mountain National Park?

Rocky Mountain National Park is, in a word, heavenly. It is easily one of the most beautiful parks in the country, and it’s filled to the brim with amazing hiking trails all throughout. According to our friends at AllTrails.com, there are 250 amazing hikes in this park you need to do ASAP. Perhaps the most popular is the famous Emerald Lake Trail, a 3.2-mile dream hike that leads folks through Tyndall Gorge to Emerald Lake, which is truly as dreamlike as it sounds. The much harder – but also incredibly popular – Sky Pond via Glacier Gorge Trail claims some of the best views in all of RMNP; it’s tough, but it’ll leave you breathless in more than one way. Then there’s Gem Lake Trail, Alberta Falls Trail, Dream Lake Trail, Deer Mountain Trail... we could go on forever. Rocky Mountain National Park is a MUST-DO for hikers and lovers of the outdoors.
