This Iconic American Park Is Finally Re-Opening And Now Is The Time To Visit
America’s newest national park is finally opening after a long five-year wait. Receiving new national recognition, Gateway Arch National Park officially opened up this month after undergoing a mind-blowing renovation. For years, complaints were made against Gateway Arch Park’s accessibility and overall surroundings, but now the park is not only much more accessible, it’s also something worth spending the day exploring.
Costing roughly $380 million dollars, Gateway Arch Park’s extensive makeover is one that many have been anxiously anticipating. Thanks to the same creators who brought us America’s Brooklyn Bridge Park and the White House’s part of Pennsylvania Avenue, landscape firm Michael Van Balkenburgh Associates helped bring us St. Louis’ newest park. Now more green than the area’s ever been, the park has so much to explore with over 5-miles of new footpaths that have been added to the park. And the best part? The footpaths are lined with beautiful trees that not only provide wonderful scenery but plenty of shade during the city’s warm days. The park’s natural attractions may have gotten the town talking, but it’s the new underground museum that been gaining quite a bit of attention. Fully redone and open for visitors as of July 3rd, the Museum at the Gateway Arch has interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, and so much for visitors of all ages to explore and enjoy.
