Created by artist Janet Echelman, Dilworth Park’s fountain now features the permanent art installation - Pulse. So, how does this art installation work? Any time a train passes underneath the fountain, LED lights and a four-foot-tall curtain of mist travels through the fountains. The mist is made up of filtered, softened water which makes it safe for everyone to play in. The element of water included in the installation is said to pay homage to the fact that Philadelphia had the country’s first citywide water system. To find out more about Pulse, click here.
