The Story Behind These 300 Year Old Ruins Is Truly Fascinating

Can you imagine walking through the forest and stumbling across mysterious stone ruins? This exploration video from YouTube channel “Abandoned Steve” will take you into the history behind the crumbling remains of a home from the 1700s. The details behind the construction, as well as the unique features of the house, are truly fascinating.

The homes are set into a lush forest. The first home was built around 1785.

Fire claimed most of this structure in 1974.

One of the homes had something called a funeral door.

Because the stairways of that era were so narrow, the funeral door allowed a casket to enter and exit the home if a person died upstairs.

Both homes are within a mile of each other, only steps from peaceful waterfalls. The occupants may have even known each other.
