This Film-Famous Resort In New York’s Catskill Mountains Is Up For Sale
Television shows usually give us a few minutes to escape into a fantasy world, but sometimes they give us a few tips into real-world hotspots as well. Luckily, that’s exactly the case with a certain upstate New York resort as well. Scott’s Family Resort at Oquaga Lake was made famous by award-winning comedy, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” after it was chosen as a setting for the show in 2019. But it’s also the ideal getaway for anyone looking to spend a few days relaxing in the midst of a picturesque setting. But earlier this year, the owners announced that they would be selling the nostalgic upstate getaway.
Scott's Oquaga Lake in upstate New York was put on New Yorkers' radar by "The Marvelous Ms. Maizel," and it's pretty appealing to anyone who's looking for a charming escape on one of the prettiest lakes in the region. The former resort had been operating since 1869, but the owners announced earlier this year that they would be selling the property. The current price is $6 million.
From recreation areas like "The Playhouse" to the luxurious guest rooms at the Christie Inn, you won't lack any upstate New York charm while spending a weekend at this gorgeous property.
Scott's Oquaga Lake is the perfect landscape for an easy stroll, and there are plenty of fun activities to keep patrons occupied, including tennis courts, a boathouse, and a golf course.
There are few better places in New York to relax on the porch and watch the sunset. Once you've kicked your feet up at this nostalgic property, it's hard to leave.
There are also a number of state forests in the area, including Whittaker Swamp State Forest, Columbia Lake State Forest, and Cat Hollow State Forest. Cannonsville Reservoir is also only a few miles northeast of the resort.
