The Iconic Airstream Ranch Attraction In Florida Is No Longer

Florida is known for its weird — and wonderful — roadside attractions that are a delight to both residents and visitors. So it comes as unfortunate news to hear about the dismantling of Airstream Ranch, one of the most beloved (though, at times, controversial) of these attractions. Here’s more on the former iconic roadside stop and what will be taking its place:

Airstream Ranch was once situated along Interstate 4, just 13 miles south of Tampa.

Looking at the unique arrangement of upside-down RVs, it’s no mystery why this artwork had been nicknamed RV Stonehenge.

The owner and creator of the display, Frank Bates, had faced opposition in the past from the county; however, judges ultimately declided that the the Airstream Ranch was perfectly legal.

Officials confirm that the display was taken down on February 9th, for a somewhat surprising reason.

In fact, the theme of Airstream RVs will live on, and not just in the hearts of its fans.

The display was actually taken down to make room for a brand new Airstream museum and dealership.
