Explore the enchanting town on foot. Climb aboard an authentic Amish horse and buggy with Ed's Buggy Rides or rent an electric scooter for the day. There are so many ways to explore Strasburg.

Plan a stop at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania before boarding a scenic trip on the Strasburg Rail Road. The historic railroad also hosts such events as the Great Train Robbery and Santa's Paradise Express.

Browse the small town shops. Join a Ghost Tour of Strasburg. Or, hop aboard a motor coach with All About Tours for a three hour exploration of the area's Amish neighborhoods.

My family visited the town of Strasburg following my father-in-law's funeral service at Arlington National Cemetery. This was a special place to my in-laws. They would drive spontaneously from their home in North Carolina to this town for ice cream at Strasburg Creamery, Café, and Country Store. So we decided it fitting to visit for ourselves for the first time following his funeral.After enjoying the delicious ice cream and shopping at the store, we explored one of the antique shops and drove around the town a bit. We would love to visit again when we have more time to explore and don't feel as emotional from grieving.

Swing by Cherry Crest Adventure Farm for the day. The farm offers such activities as a wagon tour ride, gem mining, a corn maze, a cafe, a sweet shop, and a general store, just to name a few of the 60+ fun activities available for both kids and adults of all ages.

Sit down to a delightful meal at one of the enchanting town's restaurants - we'd recommend the Fireside Tavern (pictured below) for hearty American fare or Pizza City, which is a low-key, family-operated spot serving New York-style pizza.

Sink into a comfy bed at the end of the day at one of the charming inns that dot historic Strasburg, such as the Limestone Inn Bed & Breakfast (Circa 1786!) and the Strasburg Village Inn.

On a future visit, I'd love to stay overnight at one of these charming spots. This is the type of town it's best to have more than just a day to explore.

Strasburg may be the most enchanting town in Pennsylvania but it certainly has plenty of competition, including Lititz (another of the best Amish towns in PA to explore), Meadville, and Brookville. And in Lancaster, you can book a Premium Amish Country Tour, including an Amish Farm and House. What a fun experience that would be touring an 1805 farmhouse, a 15-acre farm, and a schoolhouse!
