Throwback sweets from the 1920s to yesteryear offer diversity and over 600 bins of bulk candy will lead you to make some very complicated decisions. 2. Sweet Moses Soda Fountain & Treat Shop (6800 Detroit Ave., Cleveland)
Once upon a time, neighborhood kids gathered at the local soda fountain after class to socialize. 4. Rocket Fizz (530 Euclid Ave., Cleveland)
Quirky sweets and nostalgic treats are the name of the game at this California-based candy chain. Though it is a more common sight out west, there are only two locations in Ohio. Clevelanders, of course, are fortunate enough to have one of those locations right in their backyard. Retro knickknacks, crazy soda flavors, and unusual candies are abundant at this awesome little shop.
5. Chagrin Falls Popcorn Shop (53 N Main St., Chagrin Falls)
Popcorn, candies, ice cream, and gourmet delicacies made in and around Ohio... count me in! This adorable little sweet shop is located right beside the waterfall in the heart of Chagrin Falls, and it has delighted locals with its selection for decades. Presidents, celebrities, and international tourists can't resist its delicious selection.
6. b.a. Sweetie Candy Company (6770 Brookpark Rd., Cleveland)
Sweetie's is a Clevelander's dream! This iconic candy warehouse is overflowing with $3 million worth of candy. Anything you can dream up is abundant in this super sweet place. Jelly beans, chocolates, lollipops, and super sweet sodas are always fan favorites. Plus, their campus has an on-site soda fountain and mini golf course. A sweets fanatic could spend hours at this awesome warehouse.
7. Toney's Baloney & M&M Foods (West Side Market)
A trip through the West Side Market is always stimulating. There's simply so much to do and see that one may overlook the most intriguing booths. If you've never visited Toney's Baloney, then you have probably never tried chocolate peanut butter bacon. Candied bacon is their specialty, and though you can stock up on a variety of meats and sweets at this booth, the choco-bacon is definitely the star of the show.
8. Sweet Designs Chocolatier (16100 Detroit Ave., Lakewood)
Chocolates are arguably the most delicious confection in the world... hands down. The right kinds of handmade chocolates just melt in your mouth, immersing your taste buds in a bit of heavenly delight. This Lakewood candy shop is a fan favorite, and it's no secret why. Their truffles are simply to die for!
9. Malley's Chocolates (14822 Madison Ave., Lakewood)
In the midst of the Great Depression, a man named Mike Malley decided to spread a bit of cheer by taking on life as a chocolatier. After the success of his first storefront, he opened the current Lakewood location in 1949. Complete with oodles of sweets and a retro soda fountain and ice cream parlor, this adorable destination is beloved by Clevelanders everywhere.
