If you're going to stop anywhere in town to grab a bite to eat, you're going to want to dine at the Penn Yan Diner!
Providing nostalgia to everyone who visits, this iconic diner in Penn Yan was once a 1925 rail car. The diner is well known for having a retro mom-and-pop style that will have you thinking they managed to somehow sneak your grandmother back into their kitchen. One of the many things that will catch your eye in town? The World's Largest Pancake Griddle.
The original pancake griddle that was used to make the World's Largest Pancake back in 1987, the entire griddle is nearly 30 feet in diameter. Holy pancake! Today, the unusually large piece of kitchenware can be found on display right outside of the Birkett Mills Factory!
Want to get outside and enjoy the fresh air? Stretch your legs and hike the Keuka Lake Outlet Trail!
What once was home to a canal towpath and also a railroad bed, the land that now makes up the Keuka Lake Outlet Trail is simply breathtaking. The trail runs between the old Crooked Lake Canal bed and Keuka Outlet Creek, featuring waterfalls and amazing scenery. The entire trail is a total of 7 miles long, featuring a variety of smaller sections within that you can see on the informative map at the trailhead. A popular way to access the trail is from Cherry Street, where you'll be able to find designated parking right off the road.
