Located just 5 miles from downtown Helena, the town of East Helena is home to about 2,000 people. Although the area is small, their Main Street has become a popular place to be, especially on the weekends. That's where you'll find the highly underrated Main Street Eats, which serves some of the best breakfast food in the country, including the biscuits. Especially the biscuits.
Main Street Eats opened in September of 2014 on the corner of West Main Street and Morton Avenue.
With seating for just 35, it definitely has a small town family cafe feel.
The owners, Annie and Dave Posey, opened the place with a vision of a small town sandwich and coffee shop... but it has become so much more.
The menu here quickly became the talk of the town, especially the breakfast entrees.
The food here is all made from scratch, and the ingredients used are always as local as possible.
Much of the menu items come from food from Heritage Food Store in East Helena. The ham is from Kalispell, and the eggs are from the Hutterites. The Kitchen Sink omelet is pictured here, and it's phenomenal.
But it's the buttery, flaky, fresh biscuits here that seem to get the most attention.
The made-from-scratch biscuits come smothered in a homemade sausage gravy that is out of this world.
If you'd like to be full for the rest of your day- and possibly the following day- just get the Biscuits and Gravy combo.
The only thing better that the biscuits here are the biscuits served with gravy, crispy bacon and farm fresh eggs.
Montana is a state that does breakfast right. You'll find excellent places to get a hearty meal in nearly every city and town.
But even in a breakfast-loving state like Montana, these biscuits are a cut above the rest.
Main Street Eats is open from Wednesday - Saturday from 7 AM until 2 PM.
The team is friendly and always ready to serve patrons their delicious biscuits or anything else they're craving.
Montana has some amazing places to get a home-cooked meal. Here's a list of some of our favorites.
