Stop 1: Natchitoches, LA
This gorgeous town is known as the oldest settlement in Louisiana and it truly shows. Start your tour at Cane River Lake, which lines the downtown road.
And of course don't miss one of the famous meat pies...
Lasyone's, pictured here, is known for creating the Louisiana meat pie tradition.
Stop 2: DeRidder
This Central Louisiana town is full of charm and history. You'll love the museum here inside of the old rail depot.
And the architecture is truly something special.
The DeRidder courthouse, pictured here, is an amazing example of early 20th-century architecture.
Stop 3: Eunice
Eunice is at the heart of Cajun Country and the Savoy Music Center is a great place to explore the musical history here.
The Liberty Center is also a special addition to the Eunice cultural tapestry.
And of course, you do not want to miss the food here! It's amazing.
Stop 4: Breaux Bridge
Another stop in the heart of Cajun Country, Breaux Bridge is known as the "Crawfish Capital of the World" for good reason.
A favorite stop here is Cafe Des Amis, which is a great place for food and music.
And of course, you don't want to miss the beautiful Atchafalaya River that flows near this town and offers some amazing places to fish or go out on a boat.
Stop 5: Donaldsonville
Take a visit to this historic town which was once the capital of Louisiana.
There are some incredible historic buildings in the town that are simply gorgeous.
It's a unique place to pay a visit for sure.
Stop 6: St. Francisville
You will fall in love with the absolutely beautiful town of St. Francisville---and you can even explore the railroad here.
The Episcopal church here is one of the most beautiful churches in Louisiana.
And of course the numerous plantation homes here are amazing.
Stop 7: Abita Springs
This charming town on the northshore of Lake Pontchartrain was once a sacred place for the Choctaw tribe, who believed the springs here had healing properties.
There is a very unique museum here, the UCM museum, that is a true crowd pleaser.
And of course, the iconic Abita beer brewery is nearby.
Stop 7: Marksville
This historic town is the parish seat of Avoyelles Parish.
There are numerous historic buildings to explore here.
And there is also some very unique Civil War history to explore here.
