Wow, does Louisiana have that small town charm! There's something really special about the small towns all across this state, and they have been bolstered by a special state program which supports the redevelopment of all of these streets. It's truly incredible. Check them out!
1. Natchitoches
Winner of the Great American Main Street Award, this original Louisiana settlement offers brick lined streets and friendly faces that keep visitors coming back again and again—especially for the Christmas lights display.
2. New Roads
From fishing on the river at sunset and strolling through quaint antique stores, to decadent dining and diverse festivals, New Roads is a community for fun and family.
3. Opelousas
Louisiana's third oldest city and Zydeco Capital of the World, Opelousas has something for everyone who pays a visit.
4. Minden
With its distinctive red-bricked Main Street lined with shops, banks and churches, old-time charm pervades downtown Minden.
5. Morgan City
While not exactly a tiny town, the main street is simply breathtaking. And colorful to boot!
6. Abbeville
Abbeville is a quaint town with numerous historic buildings that have been placed on the national register.
7. Eunice
Prairie Cajun Capital Of Louisiana located right smack dab in the middle of cajun country.
8. Springhill
Downtown Main Street of Springhill has been revitalized with aesthetic improvements, new businesses, and still maintains a theater, pictured here.
9. St. Martinville
Another historic settlement in the heart of Cajun Country, strolling down St. Martinville will make you feel right at home.
10. Columbia
This tiny town packs a big punch when it hosts the annual Louisiana Art and Folk festival and showcases its beautiful main street.
11. Thibodaux
A vibrant organization keeps the main street here bustling with arts, food, and plenty of opportunities to have fun!
12. Denham Springs
Check out the vibrant Denham Springs antique village right in the heart of main street.
13. Donaldsonville
Known for its culinary prowess and political history as Louisiana's former capital, Donaldsonville is definitely worth a visit.
