There is nothing quite like a family road trip. However, finding destinations that every member of the family will enjoy can be quite a challenge. Fortunately, in southeastern Idaho, there are all types of family-friendly attractions that regardless of your age, you’ll love. This is not a long road trip. In fact, you may even be able to complete it on a single tank of gas. You will have 61 miles to travel and at least 1.5-hours of drive time. However, you may want to break this trip up into several days to give your family plenty of time to enjoy each and every attraction. 1. Splatter Lab, Rexburg

Our road trip begins at the most unique art studio in Idaho — Splatter Lab. Here, you can create masterpieces by splattering all colors and types of paint onto a canvas. You’ll be given all of the gear you need (including a speaker so you can splatter to an awesome playlist!) and be prepared to get a little messy!

2. Yellowstone Bear World, Rexburg

As you continue your drive in southeastern Idaho, make sure to stop by Yellowstone Bear World, a drive-thru wildlife park. The entire family will love watching all of the bears meander across the road, climb the trees, and play. Keep your eyes out for elk, bison, mountain goats, and even a moose as you drive around. Your kids will love the small amusement rides and you can sign up to feed the baby bears — they are adorable! 3. East Idaho Aquarium, Idaho Falls

The entire family will enjoy their time at the East Idaho Aquarium in Idaho Falls. Not only is this aquarium home to all types of ocean animals such as jellyfish, eels, and tropical fish, but there is even a shark exhibit and stingray touch area. Don't be afraid to step inside the bird enclosure, and make sure you visit Wookie the Sloth to watch as he climbs, eats, and plays.

4. Leo’s Place, Idaho Falls

With all of the excitement, you'll definitely get hungry. Head to Leo's Place, a train-themed restaurant that not only serves a variety of pizza, sandwiches, and hamburgers, but is also home to one of the largest arcades in southeastern Idaho.

5. Museum of Idaho, Idaho Falls

The Museum of Idaho is the number one history and science center in Idaho. It is also one stop on this family-friendly road trip in Idaho where you can spend a significant amount of time. The exhibits regularly rotate and there is a Discovery Room where children can crawl through caves, climb, play, and more. 6. ARTitorium, Idaho Falls

Located in downtown Idaho Falls is ARTitorium, an interactive art adventure. This family attraction is packed with all types of unique activities that allow you to unleash your creativity like a green screen studio, noise-making installations, and stop-motion animation stations. This family attraction is geared towards children 12 years old and younger.

7. Potato Museum, Blackfoot

Make sure you don’t miss one of the most unique and unusual museums in Idaho: the Potato Museum. Here, you will not only learn a little about the history and growing processes of potatoes, but you'll also see some oddities like the world's largest Pringles crisp. This is a unique and perfect ending to this road trip.
