It is almost as if Georgia churns out charming small towns as quickly as they churn out peaches. Or peanuts, for that matter. However, it's always worth highlighting some of the best small towns we come across, especially those that make anyone feel like they're right at home. We have one particular small town that is so darn charming, you'll wonder why you haven't visited yet.
Watkinsville, Georgia is a charmingly small town with a population just shy of 3,000 residents.
Named the Artland of Georgia, this beautiful little place houses more artists studios, collections, galleries and museums than anywhere else in Georgia.
Just 60 miles east of Atlanta, you’ll find the pleasantly perfect atmosphere, the allure of a main street stretch and a haven for creativity.
Art plays a major role in what shapes the town of Watkinsville.
But that doesn’t mean that there isn’t an expanse of natural beauty, too.
Like the Elder Mill Covered Bridge, which is a true historical gem.
If you take a weekend trip to Watkinsville, there are definitely a few recommendations to be made for things to do, see, and, of course, eat!
Hot Thomas’ is always a great option for authentic Southern BBQ.
But then you can slide your way into mouthwatering goodness at The Traveling Hobo Cafe.
Or chow down with a cold craft beer at Chops & Hops.
Spend the night at one of the most stunning bed & breakfasts you’ve ever laid your eyes on--Ashford Manor Bed & Breakfast.
