In fact, the Yellowhammer State is home to some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the entire Southeast. Listed below is a conveniently mapped waterfall loop adventure that'll take you to seven of the state's most beautiful waterfalls. If you're a fan of waterfalls, you'll most certainly want to follow this scenic Alabama waterfall loop.

1. DeSoto Falls - Mentone
Your first stop is DeSoto Falls. DeSoto Falls is located atop of Lookout Mountain near Mentone, Alabama. It plunges 104 feet into a pool of water and is considered one of the state's most beautiful waterfalls. DeSoto Falls is also easy to access, which makes it all the more sweet.
2. Indian Falls - Fort Payne
Following a short drive, you'll arrive at Indian Falls. Indian Falls is located at DeSoto State Park in Fort Payne, Alabama. It flows into a small ravine and is one of the state's most accessible waterfalls. It only takes a short walk from the parking lot to reach it. Indian Falls is a true hidden gem!
3. Little River Falls - Fort Payne
Next, you'll arrive at Little River Falls. Little River Falls is one of the main attractions at Little River Canyon National Preserve in Fort Payne, Alabama. In addition to being one of Alabama's top swimming holes, it's also one of the Southeast's most recognizable waterfalls.
4. High Falls - Grove Oak
Your next stop will be High Falls. High Falls is the main attraction at High Falls Park in Grove Oak, Alabama. This 35-foot-tall waterfall is a popular swimming hole that can stretch as wide as 300+ feet across following a heavy rainfall. High Falls is a definite must-see!
5. Noccalula Falls - Gadsden
Next, you'll arrive at Noccalula Falls. Noccalula Falls is the main attraction at Noccalula Falls Park in Gadsden, Alabama. This beautiful waterfall plunges 90 feet into a lush ravine and is oftentimes called "Alabama's Niagara Falls."
6. Piney Branch Falls - Grant
Your next stop will be Piney Branch Falls. Piney Branch Falls is located near Lake Guntersville in Marshall County, Alabama. It's one of the area's most beautiful waterfalls. Keep in mind, Piney Branch Falls is located on private property. Because of this, you'll need to ask permission prior to visiting it.
7. Pisgah Gorge Falls - Pisgah
Your last stop will be Pisgah Gorge Falls. Pisgah Gorge Falls is made up of two waterfalls that measure approximately 600 feet and spread out over 1.5 miles. Each of these waterfalls is also approximately 100 feet tall.
