5 Things Everyone Should Know Before Traveling To Los Angeles
Hollywood has provided the world with plenty of stereotypes about Los Angeles and its residents throughout the decades. While some of these beliefs hold true, there’s so much more to Los Angeles than initially meets the eye. Before you embark on a journey to the City of Angels, there are a few things you should know–and we’re here to share our top five tips.

Yes, you’ll find plenty of fancy cars, massive mansions, and upscale shopping districts, but the glitz and glamour of Hollywood isn’t as omnipresent as stereotypes might suggest. In fact, Hollywood itself serves largely as a tourist destination, while areas such as Beverly Hills are more geared toward high fashion and big spenders. There’s plenty of sparkle in Los Angeles, but that’s just one small facet of the city’s vibe.

When you’re planning to attend an event in L.A., you’ll need to change your ideas of mileage and time. In the City of Angels, it might take an hour to travel 15 or 20 miles during certain times of the day. While this certainly sounds overwhelming, it can be managed with a bit of advance planning and a healthy dose of patience. Just don’t expect to hop across town in ten minutes flat.

Craving a beautiful day on the beach? You’re in luck. Want to explore some local culture? No problem. Eager to learn about the region’s history? L.A. definitely delivers. Seeking a shopping trip with your girlfriends? That’s a possibility, too. In the mood for a gorgeous hike with breathtaking views? Look no further. No matter how you’d like to spend your vacation, Los Angeles has something to offer.

If possible, book your flights in and out of Los Angeles via the Bob Hope Airport in Burbank. While this spot is situated north of Downtown Los Angeles in the San Fernando Valley, it takes much of the stress out of air travel. Upon arriving, you’ll find smaller crowds, shorter lines, a far less overwhelming pickup queue, and quick access to many popular neighborhoods in the city. Burbank all the way!

Forget any negative stories you’ve heard about L.A.: this city is a wonderland. Yes, it’s expensive and not without its flaws, but there’s something utterly magical about spending a few days in Los Angeles. With its rich entertainment history, an endless array of sights to see, and a diverse population, the City of Angels will quickly steal your heart and leave you dreaming of California sunshine.
